We Help People Facing High-Stakes Legal Problems
Milad Law works with people who need real answers and a lawyer who understands what is on the line. Our clients come to us during difficult moments. A criminal charge. A custody battle. An immigration issue that could affect their future. A decision they need to challenge on appeal. We bring clarity to situations that feel chaotic and direction when the next step is unclear.
Our Core Practice Areas
We handle complex legal matters that require skilled strategy and courtroom experience.
01
Criminal Defense
When you are facing a serious criminal charge, the situation moves fast and the consequences can last a lifetime. Milad Law represents clients charged with major felony offenses across Birmingham and throughout Alabama, including murder, capital murder, complex multi-defendant cases, federal prosecutions, and cases involving difficult bond issues. These cases require disciplined preparation, careful review of the evidence, and a defense strategy built around how prosecutors and judges actually approach serious criminal litigation.
02
Family Law
We take on contested divorces, custody disputes, and DHR (state removal) cases. These cases are never simple, but we keep your goals at the center of every decision. If the state took your children or your case is turning combative, we’ll help you find a way forward.
03
Immigration
We handle immigration cases in and out of court, including applications, petitions, and mandamus actions when the government fails to act. Our defense attorneys are fluent in English and French, and have translation services for nearly any language. We help families and individuals protect their right to stay and build a life here.
04
Appeals
We take on appeals that deserve a second look, not because of the outcome, but because the law may have been applied unfairly. We study the record, research the issues, and create a strategy to defend your rights.

Our FAQs
You should speak with a criminal defense lawyer as soon as possible. In many cases, the first priority is bond and the conditions of release, not the full story of what happened. When you contact Milad Law, we look at the charge, the court, and any upcoming dates, then explain what can realistically be done right now and what decisions are coming next.
Yes. We handle serious family law matters, including cases where the state has stepped in or there is a contested fight over custody or safety. When you call, we look at any existing orders, deadlines, and court dates. We then talk through what the court is likely focused on and what evidence or steps will matter most for protecting your position.
Many people who reach out are under financial stress. We cannot take every case, and we will not promise representation we cannot sustain. What we can do is listen to the basics of your situation, explain your options, and be upfront about cost. If we can help, we give you a quote based on the real work required, not a number designed just to get you in the door.
Possibly. Appeals are not a second trial. An appellate court looks at what is already in the record and whether the law was applied correctly. When you contact Milad Law about an appeal, we talk about deadlines, review the judgment, and assess whether there are legal issues worth raising. If you are only unhappy with the outcome but there is no legal error, an appeal may not be the right tool.
Start by gathering any notices, court documents, or letters from USCIS or immigration court. When you speak with Milad Law, we look at your status, deadlines, and what the government is trying to do. We handle both immigration applications and courtroom work, and we will tell you what the law actually offers, not just what you hope will happen.
Expect honesty and clear direction. We are not here to repeat what you want to hear or to co-sign a plan that will not work in court. We explain the law, outline the options, and tell you which strategy makes the most sense. In return, we expect clients who are serious about their case, willing to listen, and ready to do their part in the process.
What is the difference between murder and capital murder charges in Alabama?Under Alabama law, murder generally refers to intentionally causing the death of another person. Capital murder is a more serious classification that applies when certain aggravating factors are present. This can include situations where a death occurs during another felony such as robbery or kidnapping, where multiple victims are involved, or where the victim is a law enforcement officer or other protected individual.
Capital murder cases carry the most severe penalties under Alabama law, including life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty. Because of the stakes involved, these cases require careful legal analysis, investigation of the evidence, and a defense strategy built for serious felony litigation.
